We are hoping to have another great turnout for our 2020 Memorial Day. If you can't march we have a wagon to ride on. If you want to ride your Motorcycle or bring your show car that is also allowed just let the Post organizer know.

Each year on December 7, the VFW remembers the attack that changed America’s destiny. The attack on Pearl Harbor – 73 years ago – tested the resolve of Americans like never before. And although this infamous day produced numerous U.S. casualties, it also served to reignite a nation’s pride and determination.

Buddy Poppies

Buddy Poppy Before Memorial Day in 1922, we conducted our first poppy distribution, becoming the first veterans' organization to organize a nationwide distribution. The poppy soon was adopted as the official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, as it remains today. During our 1923 encampment, we decided that VFW "Buddy"® Poppies would be assembled by disabled and needy veterans who would be paid for their work to provide them with financial assistance. The next year, disabled veterans at the Buddy Poppy factory in Pittsburgh assembled VFW Buddy Poppies. The designation "Buddy Poppy" was adopted at that time.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.
